First, in the pelletizing process, natural Uranium powder is compressed to round green pellets, which are sintered at high temperature of about 1700℃. And then, they are ground to round pellets of 12mm wide and 15mm long.
In the components manufacturing process, spacer pads and bearing pads on the fuel rod are welded to fuel cladding after they are processed. And then, a fuel cladding the inside of the cladding.
To produce a fuel rod and assembly, a sintered pellet is loaded into the fuel cladding and then each end is welded with rod end caps. When the welding is finished, the fuel rod is composed in bundles, and rod end plates are welded on each end of the rod. Before releasing the product, a Hellium leaking test and a final inspection are conducted for quality assurance.
