CEO Jeong Sang-bong of KEPCO Nuclear Fuel recognized as the best CEO in the 『2019 Korea CEO Hall of Fame』- A safe workplace without industrial disasters through safety management

 KEPCO Nuclear Fuel announced that CEO Jeong Sang-bong was recognized as the best CEO in the 「2019 Korea CEO Hall of Fame」 hosted by the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

 

 CEO Jeong Sang-bong of KEPCO Nuclear Fuel has been promoting  participation, cooperation, and change to all employees and officers by setting the manufacturing and supply of nuclear fuel, as the reinforcing the core values to guarantee the highest levels of safety and quality, selecting 「Safety First, Quality Best」 as the business goals for 2019.

 

 In particular, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel implemented the largest-scale quality and safety management system since its founding, including the establishment of a new quality safety team, an organization to promote progressive accident prevention as the best and utmost value,  recognizing the negative impacts of industrial accidents on the overall society.

 

 Moreover, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel strengthened the existing 6-step safety procedure for hazardous work to a 9-step procedure and devoted itself to safety management including the introduction of the system, eliminating hazardous factors in the advancement and implementation of the internal safety ombudsman preventing the safety accidents.

 

 Accordingly, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel verified the superiority of its safety management capability by acquiring the S (Good) Class in the new assessment by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the implementation status of the Process Safety Management (PSM) at Nonsan Plant in January 2019. The assessment of the implementation status of the process for safety management is the most prestigious assessment system authorized by the government and is implemented by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. KEPCO Nuclear Fuel acquired the S Class because of the philosophy and interest of the CEO on  safety management.

 

 Furthermore, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel takes the initiative for guiding the sustainable growth of the company by promoting innovative growth, including new business creation and  implementing social responsibility as a public organization, including the aspects of co-prosperity with a community to realize social values and mutual growth with small enterprises.
