KEPCO Nuclear Fuel signs 10.51-million-dollar contract with Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB) to export key nuclear fuel parts

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel (CEO Jeong Sang-bong) announced on December 22 that the company recently signed a 10.51-million-dollar contract with Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB), a nuclear fuel company in Brazil, to export nuclear fuel spacer grids and other small parts.

Spacer grids are a key nuclear fuel part that fixes and supports fuel rods filled with uranium at constant interval and force and improves heat transfer from the nuclear reactor to the coolant.

Since signing the first deal with INB to supply nuclear fuel parts in June 2006, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel has expanded its export volume so far.   In particular, despite difficulties in pursuing the export business due to COVID-19, the company achieved visible outcomes as it has doubled the contract amount compared to the previous one.

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel is planning to pursue this export business with small and medium-sized companies in Korea and use it as an opportunity for shared growth by increasing revenue in small and medium-sized companies.
