- Receives Presidential Award (Bronze) for work process improvement



KEPCO Nuclear Fuel (President Jung Chang-Jin) announced that it won the Presidential Award at the 51st National Quality Circle Competition held at the Jeju International Convention Center from August 25 to 29.

 

The National Quality Circle Competition, co-hosted by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and organized by the Korean Standards Association, featured a total of 317 teams selected through regional preliminaries from 17 cities and provinces nationwide. The competition consisted of 18 categories, showcasing diverse innovation cases reflecting the characteristics of each industry and the latest management trends.

 

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel achieved a remarkable feat when the “Jjanggu” Quality Circle from the Plant Maintenance Department won the Presidential Award Bronze in the Public Corporation Six Sigma category with their project on 'Reducing Defect Rate through PHWR Fuel Assembly Cladding Tube Process Improvement”. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the 51st National Quality Management Convention at COEX in Seoul in November.

 

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel has been recognized for its production and quality improvement achievements through systematic innovation activities, including KIPS (KEPCO NF Innovative Production System), Six Sigma, and suggestion programs that prioritize safety and quality. As a result, the company has been consecutively selected as an Excellent Quality Competitiveness Company certified by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for 21 consecutive years since 2001.
