- 3 million dollar-export of spacer grid for ACE7 nuclear fuel


▣ KEPCO NF(President Kim Ki Hak) that is the only professional company of design and manufacture of nuclear fuel in Korea cleared up on the 18th that it had concluded 3 million dollar-export contract of spacer grid for ACE7 nuclear fuel with INB company(President Mr. Alfredo Tranjan Filho) which is a nuclear fuel company in Brazil.

▣ KEPCO NF has annually expanded export goods such as INB standard-nuclear fuel spacer grid, plenum spring & sleeve since it firstly concluded the supply contract of nuclear fuel components with INB company in June, 2006; has been exporting about 10 million dollar-nuclear fuel main parts to the U.S. which is a suzerain of nuclear power as well as Brazil even before this contract.

▣ KEPCO NF's localization & export business of nuclear fuel components succeeded in foreign export as well as its own use by localizing all components of nuclear fuel through the close cooperation with domestic small and medium partnership companies. KEPCO NF reinforced international competitiveness with stable components supply & cost reduction, and small and medium partnership companies were equipped with stable management foundation. As a result, it is counted as a good example of joint growth between large and small/medium enterprises that receive actual benefits.

※ Brazil is operating 2 nuclear power plants and constructing one. INB company is producing and supplying the whole quantity of nuclear fuels required for nuclear power plants in Brazil.
※ Spacer Grid : It is a core component of nuclear fuel that fixes uranium inserted fuel rod at regular spaces, supports with proper strength, and improves thermal transfer to a coolant within nuclear reactor.
