Excellence Quality Management Award conferred for 11 consecutive years
|
KEPCO NF won the Excellence Quality Management Award for the 11 consecutive years on November 24, 2011 in recognition of its significant improvements in quality standards, productivity and product exports. The award was presented by the Korean Standards Association with the support of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Agency for Technology and Standards.
KEPCO NF President Kim Ki-Hak remarked that the “award embodies our strong push to upgrade our product quality in order to enhance the safety of nuclear fuels. We will continue to make every effort to level up customer satisfaction and product competitiveness.”
The Excellence Quality Management Award is conferred very year to enterprises with highs levels of competitiveness as well as those that are dedicated to the development of outstanding products and services. As such, the award aims to upgrade Korea’s national competitiveness through overall quality upgrades.
KEPCO NF has developed Korea’s standard-type reformed PLUS7TM, the highest level of nuclear fuel, through its consistent technology development activity. The Company also succeeded in developing the ACE7TM fuel for Westinghouse reactors. These fuels are now supplied to domestic nuclear plants. KEPCO NF is strongly dedicated to developing high-performance and export-oriented nuclear fuels such as HIPER and X-Gen, based on its original advanced technologies. Spurred by the development of the manufacturing technology of zircon alloy tubes, a core component of nuclear fuels, Korea began to mass produce all nuclear fuel parts in 2009.
