KEPCO Nuclear Fuel executed an  MOU with DEI USA for Nuclear Fuel Service Development ... secured a foothold to expand nuclear fuel service globally

 KEPCO Nuclear Fuel (CEO Jeong Sang-bong) executed an MOU with DEI (Dominion Engineering Inc.), USA for cooperation on the nuclear fuel service development required in nuclear plants abroad on the 28th (local time in the USA).

 Located near Washington DC, USA, DEI has maintained a close relationship with leading nuclear power plant operators and nuclear fuel suppliers internationally as well as in the USA since its founding in 1980. DEI also provides services including innovative system development, power plant maintenance, R&D, and technical consulting utilizing its distinguished technologies.

 KEPCO Nuclear Fuel developed a nuclear fuel cleaning system to clear CRUD (Chalk River Unidentified Deposit) in 2005 and has been using it in the power plants operating in Korea.

 CRUD cleaning separates the corrosion products (CRUD), which settles in the nuclear fuel which is burning by using the ultrasonic waves. CRUD cleaning system enhances the efficiency of nuclear power plants and improves safety by reducing the radiation dose within the reactor system.

 KEPCO Nuclear Fuel plans to become the predominate nuclear fuel service abroad through this MOU and expand into the global market.

 CEO Jeong Sang-bong said, “the MOU with DEI is important momentum for KEPCO Nuclear Fuel to expand its business fields. KEPCO Nuclear Fuel will progressively develop the nuclear fuel service projects required in nuclear facilities abroad on the basis of the advanced technologies and experience on nuclear fuel.”
