KNF gets K-OHSMS 18001 Certified
- The company achieved global competence in Safety Management, raising the market’s expectations with its enhanced competitiveness

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel Company (President and CEO Lee Jae-hee) announced on August 4 that it is certified to K-OHSMS 18001 by KSR, the Korea Knowledge Standard Registrar, and had a Certificate Award Ceremony at a meeting room in KNF, attended by the head of KNF and KSR, and other guests concerned.

K-OHSMS 18001 (Occupational Health Safety Management System) is an international standard concerned with protecting and managing the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment. The company views the certification will contribute to fostering a safe and healthy work environment, and may also build up its future competitiveness when entering the global markets.

KNF has been sustaining Security Health Management System through overall drive to improve its safety system, since it achieved KOSHA 18001 certification from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2002. Meanwhile, using ISO 14001, the international standard for Environmental Management, the company has been controlling their environmental impact and constantly improving environmental performance since 2013.

CEO Lee said, “The accreditation means a lot to our company, showing that we strengthened our global competence this far. We will make KNF more competitive in the international market by implementing K-OHSMS, the international standard Occupational Health Safety Management System.”

KNF now has three internationally recognized certifications in total: ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, and K-OHSMS 18001 Occupational Health Safety Management System.
