KEPCO NF has gained the Excellence Quality Management Award for the 12 consecutive years in acknowledgement of its advances in quality standards and productivity. At the same time, the nuclear fuel company was put in the hall of fame of enterprises with excellent quality competitiveness. The award was presented by the Korean Standards Association on November 5 with the support of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Agency for Technology and Standards.
KEPCO NF President & CEO Kim Ki-Hak stressed that the Company, a public enterprise dedicated to designing and manufacturing nuclear fuel which is supplied to all the 23 domestic atomic power plants, has optimized its quality management system and developed design and evaluation technologies in order to provide reliable nuclear fuel products. Of particular note, .he said the Company succeeded in the development of KIPS, a production innovation system. The Company also staged a series of campaigns to produce trouble-free equipment and products without defects and provide safety-ensured work sites. “We have yielded significant achievements in these activities,” said President Kim. KEPCO NF will transfer its nuclear fuel technology to UAE starting 2016. Observing its 30th anniversary this year, the Company has been working tirelessly to become a Global Top3 Fuel Cycle Company.
KEPCO NF President & CEO Kim stressed that the 2012 quality award embodies “our dedication to upgrading product quality in order to enhance the reliability and economic efficiency of our nuclear fuels. We will continue our efforts to level up product quality based on our quality management and supply reliable and high-performance nuclear fuels.”
The Excellence Quality Management Award is conferred very year to enterprises with highs levels of competitiveness as well as those that are committed to the development of outstanding products and services. Enterprises that win the Excellence Quality Management Awards over 10 times are qualified to enter into the hall of fame.
