NUCLEAR FUEL Safety

Safety

Safety Activity

Nuclear fuel used in nuclear power plants is produced first through the process of extraction of uranium ore from the ground. The nuclear fuel causes no harm to the public, since radiation doses arise from the fuel are no higher than those from natural background; this does not make any chances of radiation leakage or accidents during the fuel fabrication processes, as coal does not emit carbon dioxide until it burns.

KEPCO NF has designed and operated our nuclear fuel plants in accordance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and Radiation Protection Regulations. Nuclear Safety and Security Commission performs inspections annually in our facilities, and there has been no radiation accident occurred in our history of manufacturing nuclear fuels since the first operation.
