▣ On Dec. 5, KEPCO NF (KNF, CEO Choi Ik-su) won the “USD 2 Billion Export Tower” at a ceremony celebrating the 60th Trade Day at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

▣ The Trade Day ceremony is hosted by the Korea International Trade Association and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, annually selecting companies that contributed to pioneering overseas markets and awarding the companies’ representatives and staff according to their contribution level.

▣ KNF, the only company in Korea to simultaneously design and manufacture nuclear fuels, has been exporting its manufactured nuclear fuel since 2017, according to the contract for Korea to supply the Barakah nuclear power plant in the UAE in 2009. Furthermore, KNF recorded exports of USD 270 million based on the figure of the given year by exporting crucial parts, part manufacturing equipment, and post-use fuel performance examination gear to countries such as the United States, Brazil, and Argentina, relying on the company’s high-quality nuclear fuel production technology.

▣ Park Ho-yeong, a head manager at KNF, also won the President’s Award at the ceremony for his feats in overseas exports of nuclear fuels.
